2003 ENERGY STAR® PARTNER of THE YEAR
FOR EXCELLENCE IN ENERGY SERVICES
[Atlanta, GA -- 4/15/2003]
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has honored Servidyne Systems, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Abrams Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq-ABRI), with the 2003 ENERGY STAR® Award for Excellence in Energy Services. This is the third consecutive year that Servidyne has received an ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Award. Servidyne will be recognized tonight at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. for its outstanding contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by helping its customers adopt smart energy practices and install energy efficient equipment in their facilities.
Servidyne, a Charter Ally of the ENERGY STAR Buildings Program since 1995, was selected for leading its industry in successfully qualifying more buildings in 2002 for the ENERGY STAR label than any other service provider. A pioneer of energy benchmarking in the early 1980s, Servidyne ranks among U.S. leaders in accrediting buildings for ENERGY STAR. In 2002 alone, Servidyne benchmarked over 150 customer properties, with 44 achieving the coveted ENERGY STAR label. Servidyne helps its customers realize significant energy cost savings in operating their buildings by making this commitment to continuous improvement of energy performance.
"Servidyne is honored to accept this prestigious award for the third year in a row," said Barry Abramson, Senior Vice President and Director of Engineering Services for Servidyne. "We are proud to help our customers make the environment and energy management a priority. In helping building owners and managers do the right thing with regard to the global environment, we enable them to reduce energy costs while maintaining healthy and productive indoor environments for building occupants as well."
The ENERGY STAR Award is given to a variety of businesses and organizations to recognize their efforts to use energy efficiently and to promote energy efficiency. The Award winners are selected from thousands of organizations that participate in the ENERGY STAR program. Buildings that have earned ENERGY STAR accreditation use about 40% less energy with no compromise in comfort.
"Servidyne has helped many organizations upgrade to ENERGY STAR and make energy performance part of their overall business strategy as well as part of their day-to-day operations," said Kathleen Hogan, director of EPA's Climate Protection Partnerships Division. "By providing ENERGY STAR services and technologies to organizations throughout the country, Servidyne has demonstrated a long term commitment to the environment and to the bottom line."
